11 Mandates of this fast

PrayforPensacola.com announces it 3^rd “40 days of prayer and fasting” for Pensacola, Century and Escambia County from January 10 to February 19, 2010. The purpose is to bring together all of the churches of Escambia County as well as business leaders, lay leaders, community leaders and families to pray for God’s favor and Divine purpose to rest upon us.

Each day of the prayer and fast will be devoted to a different purpose. (cause, reason, issue, motive....) Please be sure to check the calendar of events periodically to see our daily prayer requests. We encourage to create your own prayer meetings within your own church or with other Christians that you know. If you have an open meeting and wish to invite others please email us at info@prayforpensacola.com and we will publish your request.

During the 40 days, we will pray and fast to see God’s hand intervene in our county in these very specific ways for the year 2010

1.      1. We pray to see a decrease in the crime rate and murder rate in Escambia County, thereby creating a safer environment to raise our families.  

2.      2. We pray that every Escambia County school would have a grade of C or higher

3.      3. We pray to see a three percentage point increase in the high school graduation rate for all Escambia County seniors.

4.      4. We pray that God protects our county from drugs, child abuse, child trafficking and hurricanes. We ask that he puts a hedge of protection around the county.

5.      5. We pray that our county would be a safe refuge for its citizens, visitors, military guests and tourists.

6.      6. We pray that county would continue to place a high value on life including the lives of the unborn. Furthermore we pray that more children would be moved from foster care to permanent families and permanent adoptions.

7.      7. We pray to see an increase in economic development and an increase of jobs for our citizens.

8.      8. We pray for an increase in membership for every church and every denomination represented in Escambia County.

9.      9. We pray for an increase of communication between community agencies, churches and government in order to see greater success in meeting the needs of our citizens.

10.  10. We pray to see an increase in the literacy rates our youngest citizens.

We believe that when the churches of this county come together to pray and fast in one accord that God will intervene on our behalf and answer our prayers.
